Wilson Takes Home WACBA Player Of The Week Honors

WACBA WEEKLY RELEASE

PAXTON, MA - Amber Wilson (New York, NY) was named the Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Women's Basketball Player Of The Week for the second week in a row as announced by the organization's office this morning. 

Last week, Wilson had a strong week for the AMCATS as she averaged a double-double (28.0 points/11.0 rebounds) on 51.2 percent shooting. She also stuffed the stat sheet when she dished out 4.5 assists and swatted away two shots per game. For the season, Wilson now has seven double-doubles and has scored 20+ points 10 times and scored 30+ points three times.

The AMCATS went 1-1 last week against Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponents, Suffolk Rams and Lasell Lasers with their win coming against the Lasers. Despite the loss against the Rams, Wilson had a solid game when she scored a team-high 25 points on 8 of 17 shooting to go with seven rebounds, one assist, and one block. Against the Lasers, Wilson went off almost collecting a triple-double with 31 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists while recording three blocks and two steals.

Coming up this week for Wilson and AMCATS, the team travels to Saint Joesph's (ME) on Wednesday, January 29 at 5:30 PM. Anna Maria wraps up the week hosting Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, February 1 at 1 PM.
