Justin Oliver Dominates In Win Over Pioneers.
PAXTON, MA - On Saturday, October 26th the Anna Maria College football team hosted the Alfred State College Pioneers for an ECFC matchup. The AMCATS won the game 35-23.
After nearly ten minutes of play, the Pioneers were the first on the board with a 25 yard field goal. The Pioneers would end up holding the AMCATS scoreless in the first quarter however, Ryan Russell got to work early in the second quarter finding Justin Oliver in the end zone for a 44 yard passing touchdown. Just a couple of minutes later, the Pioneers would regain the lead with a 66 yard touchdown off a Throw from Noah Currier. The AMCATS would go on to score three more touchdowns in the second quarter. Two of which came from Justin Oliver.
The AMCATS wasted no time in the second half scoring their fifth touchdown of the day, just two minutes into the third quarter. The AMCATS fifth and final touchdown came off a 16 yard pass from Russell over to Davien Atkinson, giving the AMCATS a 25 point lead over the Pioneers. With a little over five minutes left in the third quarter, the Pioneers found the end zone yet again, cutting the AMCATS lead down to 18 points. The Pioneers would score just one more touchdown early in the fourth quarter however it was not enough to close the gap and the AMCATS ended up on top with a score of 35-23.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Justin Oliver recorded a career high of 158 receiving yards as well as a career high of three touchdowns in a game.
- Jihad Brown hit a career high of 8 total tackles against the Pioneers. Brown also snagged his first two career Interceptions.
- Jaiquan Torrence also hit a career high milestone of 11 total tackles in a single game.

The AMCATS will be back In action on Saturday, November 2nd where they will host the Dean College Bulldogs for Senior Day. Opening kickoff is set for 12:00pm at Caparso Field in Paxton, MA.
