Football Shuts Out Bulldogs On Senior Day

PAXTON, MA - On Saturday, November 2nd the Anna Maria College football team hosted the Dean College Bulldogs for an Eastern Collegiate Football Conference matchup as well as Senior Day. The AMCATS won the game 63-0.

The AMCATS put the pressure on the Bulldogs early, after Marino Vedova recovered a Bulldogs fumble on the first drive of the game. The AMCATS would go on to score shortly after with a ten yard rush from Nico Cavaliere. Almost ten minutes later, the AMCATS found the end zone again off a 41 yard reception from Davien Atkinson. Atkinson score again with six seconds left in the first quarter, this time off a 21 yard pass from Russell. After fifteen minutes of play, the AMCATS led over the Bulldogs 21-0.

Showing no signs of slowing down, Treshawn Blair found the end zone off a 4 yard run, for the AMCATS fourth touchdown of the day. Ryan Russell would join in on the action six minutes later running in a 4 yard touchdown to make it 34-0. Thinking on his feet, Tyler Bulinksi would turn a two point conversion following Russells touchdown to give the AMCATS a 36 point lead. Kevin Acosta Jr would close out the scoring in the first half with a 22 yard reception to make it 43-0 entering halftime.

After the intermission, the AMCATS got back to work after Brendan Arroyo scored off a 17 yard punt return just three minutes into the third quarter. Just 13 seconds later, Elie Charles would score a 49 yard fumble recovery touchdown to increase the AMCATS lead to a whopping 56-0. Slowing down, the AMCATS wouldn't see the end zone again until the start of the fourth quarter where Alan Bailey scored the final touchdown of the game off a 5 yard run. The AMCATS would end the game with a score of 63-0.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

  • The AMCATS win marks the first shutout victory in the programs history.
  • Ryan Kent accumulated an impressive 397 kickoff yards against the Bulldogs.
  • The AMCATS have finished the regular season .500 or more for the last four seasons.

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, November 16th where they will host the Alfred State College Pioneers for the ECFC Championship. Opening kickoff is set for 12:00pm at Caparso Field in Paxton, MA.
