Men's Soccer Falls Short In Loss To Saints

PAXTON, MA , On Wednesday, October 9th, the Anna Maria College men's soccer team contested in a fierce matchup with the Emmanuel College Saints. The AMCATS lost by a slim margin as the game ended 2-1!

The game kicked off with high tempo as both teams attacked strongly, and it did not take long for the AMCATS to make their mark with a goal by Kyle Brocker. The AMCATS led 1-0, however, Emmanuel was not about to back down. Just before halftime, they equalized with a very skillful play that found the back of the net. The goal showed their hunger, reminding the AMCATS that they were in for a battle. As the teams headed into the locker rooms for half time, the score stood at 1-1.

The second half saw both teams pushing hard for the winning strike. The AMCATS displayed some skill and resilience, creating several chances and keeping the pressure on Emmanuel's defense but it was not to be grabbed easy. As the clock ticked down, it seemed like the match was destined for a draw. However, in a crazy twist, Emmanuel struck again in the 89th minute. A penalty shot sent the ball soaring past the AMCATS' keeper, sealing the game at 2-1. The late goal felt like a stab in the heart, leaving the AMCATS broken.

While the loss stings, the AMCATS showcased their talent and tenacity once again. With heads held high, they'll look to regroup and bounce back stronger in their next outing.

• This was the first the first loss for the AMCATS since the last week of September.
• Rubelsi Moran tallied an assist to continue his point streak with the AMCATS.

The AMCATS are back in action this Saturday, October 12^th as they head down to West Hartford, CT to take on the University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays.
