Men's Soccer Notches Fourth Straight In 3-1 Win Over Blazers

PAXTON, MA - On Wednesday, September 11th the Anna Maria College men's soccer team hosted the Elms College Blazers for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 3-1 marking their fourth straight win to start the season.

The AMCATS hit the ground running in the first half after freshman Kyle Brocker buried the first goal of the game off a pass from Oluwafifehan Badejo. The goal from Brocker marks his third in the last two games. Not letting up, the AMCATS relentless offense struck again just a minute later, this time off the foot of Edrisa Jammeh. Jammeh's goal came off a pass from Camron Brito, giving the AMCATS a 2-0 lead over the Blazers just 21 minutes into the first half. Holding strong on defense, the AMCATS only gave up one shot on goal in the first half as they entered the intermission, maintaining the 2-0 lead over the Blazers.

Some time would pass in the second half before the game saw any more scoring action. The Blazers would finally break their silence after almost 72 minutes of play after Brandyn Costa tucked one past the AMCATS, cutting their lead in half. It would be the Blazers however that would give the AMCATS the upper hand just eight minutes later after drawing a penalty kick on Rubelsi Moran who capitalized and buried the AMCATS third and final goal of the evening. The game would close out with the AMCATS securing the 3-1 win over the Blazers as well as their fourth consecutive win to open up the season.
