Men's Soccer Falls To Wildcats In Overtime of Conference Quarterfinal

PROVIDENCE, RI - On Saturday, November 2nd the Anna Maria College men's soccer team traveled to Providence, RI to take on the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Quarterfinals. The AMCATS lost the game 3-2 in overtime.

The Wildcats opened the game up with an early goal at the sixteen minute mark of the first half. Held scoreless for the remainder of the first half, the AMCATS found their answer with a goal from Rubelsi Moran nearly 18 minutes into second half action. Tied up at one goal a piece, the game would go scoreless until the final three minutes of the half where the Wildcats managed to sneak one past the AMCATS taking a 2-1 lead. With little to no time on the clock, the AMCATS pushed hard to tie the game back up. It would be Babtiste Petijean to give the AMCATS that spark, scoring the game tying goal with just over a minute left in regulation.

Pushing the overtime, the AMCATS were met with a strong offensive presence from the Wildcats. Unfortunately after almost seven minutes of overtime action, the Wildcats managed to score the game winning goal, effectively ending the AMCATS season.
