Moran Scores Hat Trick In Win Over Chargers

PAXTON, MA - On Tuesday, October 1st the Anna Maria College men's soccer team hosted the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS won the match 3-2.

The game got off to a quick start as the Chargers found the back of the net just over a minute into the first half. Just four seconds later, Rubelsi Moran tied the game up off a penalty kick making it a 1-1 game less than two minutes into play. Nearly thirteen minutes later, Moran would find the back of the net yet again, giving the AMCATS the lead over the Chargers. The remaining thirty minutes of the first half wouldn't see a goal as the AMCATS maintained their lead going into the intermission.

Moran would keep things going in the second half, scoring his third goal of the night just under ten minutes into the half. The Chargers would tuck in just one more goal almost six minutes later, however strong defensive play from the AMCATS would keep the Chargers just out of reach as time ran out in the second half. The game would close with a score of 3-2 in favor of the AMCATS. Rubelsi Moran would score all three goals for the AMCATS.

• Moran had his first career Hat Trick against the Chargers.

Men's soccer will be back in action on Saturday, October 5th where they will host the Pilgrims of New England College for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening kickoff is set for 12:00pm at Caparso Field in Paxton, MA.
