VOLLEYBALL DROPS TWO AT NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE TRI-MATCH

HENNIKER, NH - On Saturday, September 21st the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team traveled to Henniker, NH for a tri-match against the Lazers of Lasell and the Pilgrims of New England College. The AMCATS would lose both sets 3-0.  

The AMCATS opened the day against the Lazers of Lasell. Losing the first set 25-15, the AMCATS would continue to fight and battle against the Lazers but would lose the second set 25 to 19. The second set would be the closest set of the match for the AMCATS. The AMCATS would give their all in set three, but it would be the Lazers of Lasell who would come up on top against the AMCATS winning set three 25 to 11. This would conclude the match, as the Lazers would win three straight against the AMCATS. It would be Annie Taylor who would lead the AMCATS with 5 kills in the match. Annie Taylor and Emily Coulp would lead the AMCATS with 8 digs each in the match. It would be Gia Hall who would come out of the match leading the AMCATS with 9 attacks.  

The second match of the day the AMCATS would look to come out strong and battle back from their first match of the day. This second match of the day would be against the Pilgrims of New England College. The AMCATS would fight against the Pilgrims battling against the Pilgrims but would ultimately lose the first set 25 to 11. The AMCATS would look to battle back, and get their first win of the set, but would fall short to the Pilgrims losing the second set 25 to 12. This would prove to be the best set of the match for the AMCATS against the Pilgrims. The third set would start, and the AMCATS giving it there all fighting to win the set, to continue the match, but would come up short against the Pilgrims losing the set 25 to 10. The AMCATS would fall to the Pilgrims 3 sets to 0 resulting in the AMCATS losing the match. Annie Taylor would lead the AMCATS in the match with 10 digs, and 4 kills. It would be Gia Hall 14 attacks to lead the AMCATS in the match against the Pilgrims.  

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE: 

  • Annie Taylor would lead the AMCATS with a total of 18 digs on the day.  

  • Gia Hall would lead the AMCATS with a total of 23 attacks on the day.  

  • The AMCATS have been defeated in every tri-match so far this season.  

COMING UP: 

The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday October 1, 2024, where they will host the Mitchel College Mariners for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The match is set to start at 6:00pm.
