VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO WILDCATS, 3-0

PAXTON, MA – On Tuesday October 29, 2024, the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team hosted the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 3 sets to 0.

The Wildcats would come out strong in the first set against the AMCATS, and the AMCATS would quickly find themselves falling behind to the Wildcats. The Wildcats would defeat the AMCATS in the first set 25 to 9. Trailing 1-0, the AMCATS had quickly found themselves falling behind in the second set to the Wildcats. The AMCATS would try to battle back in the second set and continue the strong offensive push, in the second set but the AMCATS would find themselves coming up short to the Wildcats of JWU losing the second set 25 to 12. Unable to claw back in set three, the AMCATS fell early to the Wildcats and would create offensive opportunities and spark points on the board for the AMCATS, but it would not prove to be enough as the  AMCATS could not battle back despite their offensive push falling to the Wildcats in set three 25 to 14. This would prove to be the best set of the night for the AMCATS offensively. This would complete the sweep for the Wildcats over the AMCATS 3 to 0. Jana Hunt would lead the AMCATS against the Wildcats with 6 digs on the night, and it would be Gia Hall that would lead the AMCATS in offense with 6 attacks. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

• Freshman Gia Hall would record her 302^nd assist against the Wildcats in the match. 
• Senior Jana Hunt  would record her 470^th career dig against the Wildcats in the match. 

 COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, November 2^nd where they head to Chicopee, MA for a tri-match against the Elms College Blazers and the Rivier Raiders. The match's are set to start at 11:00am and 1:00pm.
