Plattsburgh, NY - On Saturday, September 21st the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team traveled to Plattsburgh, NY for a non-conference tri-match against the SUNY Poly and the Plattsburg Cardinals. The AMCATS lost both matches.
The AMCATS opened the day against the Wildcats of Suny Poly. Losing the first set 25-13, the AMCATS didn't give up as they battled through set number two with a score of 25-17. As the match progressed, the AMCATS performed better and better. Despite losing the third set, the AMCATS came within points of victory only losing 25-20 to the Wildcats. It would be Jana Hunt that led the AMCATS with 8 kills in the first match, and Annie Taylor that would lead the team with 17 digs in the first match.
The second match of the day the AMCATS would give it their all against the Cardinals of Plattsburg. The AMCATS would lose the first set to the Cardinals 25 to 8. The AMCATS would continue to push and fight against the Cardinals but would lose the second set 25 to 13. The third set would prove to be the AMCATS best set of the day, but ultimately losing a heart breaker to the Cardinals 25 to 23. That heartbreaker would conclude the match with the AMCATS falling to the Cardinals 3 to 0. Three AMCATS would be tied for 4 kills each, those AMCATS are Lauren Decoteau, Bri Franklin, and Gia Hall. Jana Hunt would lead the AMCATS in the match with 10 digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Annie Taylor would have a combined 23 digs for the day.
- Annie Taylor would have a career total of 133 digs this season for the AMCATS.
- Jana Hunt would tie her season high of 8 kills in one match today against SUNY Poly.
- This marks the first time the AMCATS have played a tri-match against Plattsburgh in ten years.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday, September 24th where they will travel just down the hill to Worcester State, to take on the Lancers. First set is set to start at 7:00pm.
