Volleyball Drops Three Straight To Lancers

WORCESTER, MA - On Tuesday, September 24th the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team traveled down the street to take on the Worcester State University Lancers for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the match 3 sets to 0.

It would be a tough night for the AMCATS as they dropped three straight sets to the Lancers. The second set was the AMCATS best set of the evening as they trailed by just 7 points. The Lancers however would get the best of the AMCATS in the third set as they dominated the play with a score or 25-9. Jana Hunt led the AMCATS with ten digs on the evening while Gia Hall, Ella Moon and Hunt led the attack with three kills each.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

  • The AMCATS have not beaten the Lancers since 2016.
  • Jana Hunt leads the AMCATS so far this season with 53 kills.
  • Annie Taylor leads the AMCATS with 142 digs so far this season.
  • Gia Hall leads the AMCATS in service aces with 18 this season.

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Thursday, September 26th where they will host the Westfield State University Owls for a non-conference matchup. Opening set starts at 6:00pm.
