Men's Basketball Comes Up Short Against Cadets

NORTHFIELD, VT - On Tuesday, January 7th the Anna Maria College men's basketball team traveled to Northfield, VT to take on the Cadets of Norwich University for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 75-70.

The AMCATS struggled to keep up with the Cadets early in the game as they found themselves trailing by 23 points after the first half. After a discouraging first half, the AMCATS returned after the intermission with some fire as they went on to out score the Cadets 52-34. Despite the late game surge, the AMCATS still found themselves just five points shy of tying things up resulting in their first conference loss of the season.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Ray Carter Jr. posted his third straight twenty point game, scoring 24 points against the Cadets.
  • Lucas Miglionico scored a season high of ten points for the AMCATS.
  • The AMCATS posted a near perfect 17 for 18 on the free throw line for a season high of 94%.

COMING UP:

Men's basketball is back in action on Saturday, January 11th where they will head to Weston, MA to take on the Regis College Pride for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening tip-off is set for 1:00pm.
