Men's Basketball Struggles With Owls

PAXTON, MA - On Tuesday, November 26th the Anna Maria College men's basketball team hosted the Westfield State University Owls for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 95-72.

After the Owls took an early lead, the AMCATS managed to scratch back to get the game within eight points for a halftime score of 49-41 in favor of the Owls. Gabe Armstead led the charge for the AMCATS in the first half with 12 points.

The AMCATS would struggle in the second half of the game as the Owls out scored them 46-31 bringing the final tally to 95-72 in favor of the Owls. Gabe Armstead would continue to lead the AMCATS with 14 points and 10 rebounds for his first double double performance of the season.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Gabe Armstead leads the AMCATS with an average of 15.1 PPG so far this season.
  • The AMCATS are 0-2 against the Owls in their last two meetings.

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Friday, December 6th where they will head to Hartford, CT to take on the Trinity College Bantams for a non-conference matchup. Opening tip-off is set for 7:00pm.
