MEN'S BASKETBALL PULLS OUT THE COME FROM BEHIND WIN OVER THE PRIDE

WESTON, MA– On Saturday January 11, 2025, the Anna Maria College men's basketball game would travel to Weston, MA to take on the Pride of Regis College. The AMCATS would beat the Pride 79 to 74. 

In the first half, the AMCATS and the Pride would battle it out, going basket for basket. Both teams would bring the offensive momentum putting up points on the scoreboard, the AMCATS would go point for point in the first quarter against the Pride. The Pride would pull ahead by three points at the end of the first half to gain the lead over the AMCATS by three points to 36 to 33 to end the first half. 

The AMCATS would look to go into the second half, with the same offensive momentum but stronger as they would need to pull away from the Pride and gain control and the lead. The AMCATS would continue to battle against the Pride and stay strong not only offensively but would also tighten up their defensive play in the second half which is what they needed to do if they wanted to take the lead over the Pride. As the half would continue the AMCATS would look to continue the powerful play over the Pride and the strong offensive momentum and point scoring to gain the lead over the Pride. The AMCATS would get their chances and would dominate the Pride towards the end of the second half. As the AMCATS would be beginning to not only get their offensive momentum, but their defensive mindset and skills would tighten up in the game as well. It would be the AMCATS to not only battle back and come from behind to pull out the come from behind win. But would also limit the Pride to 38 points in the second half and would manage to control and dominate the score board putting up 46 points in the second half. The AMCATS strong offensive skills and defensive play in the second half would lead them to winning the game against the Pride. As they would completely dominate play in the second half and pull out a come from behind win against the Pride. The AMCATS would beat the Pride 79 to 74. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Ray Carter would lead the AMCATS on the night against the Pride putting up 27 points. 
• Jayden Dickerson would lead the AMCATS in rebounds against the Pride with 9. 

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday January 15, 2025, where they will host the Blue Jays of Saint Josephs of Connecticut. Opening Tip-off is set for 7:00pm.
