Men's Basketball Pulls Out Huge Overtime Win Over Falcons At Home

PAXTON, MA - On Wednesday, February 12th the Anna Maria College men's basketball team hosted the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 85-82.

The AMCATS got off to a slow start in the first half of the game as the Falcons took an early lead. It wasn't until the halfway point that the AMCATS made a full recovery and tied the game up. Battling back and forth the AMCATS found themselves trailing by just one point as the game entered halftime. Ray Carter Jr. led the charge in the first half with 9 points to help keep the AMCATS in the game.

The second half of the game would be back and forth action between both teams, with neither taking their foot off the gas. Playing physical the AMCATS managed to outshoot the Falcons 33-32 to push the game into overtime. Nolan Serafin led the AMCATS in the second half with 10 points including a pair of three pointers.

In overtime it was the Ray Carter Jr. and Gabe Armstead who led the AMCATS to victory as each scored 7 points effectively beating the Falcons 14-11 for a final score of 85-82. Carter would finish the game with a double double, scoring 24 points with 10 assists to help give the AMCATS the win.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Ray Carter Jr. recorded his first double double of the season after scoring 24 points with 10 assists.
  • The AMCATS haven't beat the Falcons since the 2015-2016 season.

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday, February 18th where they will head to Chicopee, MA to take on the Elms College Blazers for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening tip-off is set for 7:00pm.
