Men's Basketball Can't Hold On In Loss To Scots

PAXTON, MA - On Wednesday, November 13th the Anna Maria College men's basketball team hosted the Fighting Scots of Gordon College for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 87-79.

The first half of the game would be an even matchup between both teams with the AMCATS managing the extra point over the Fighting Scots with a score of 41-40. Nolan Serafin totaled 12 of the AMCATS 41 points in the first half, going three for three from the three point line.

After the intermission, the AMCATS would find themselves battling back and forth with the Scots before a momentum switch in the last ten minutes of the game gave the Scots the upper hand. Pulling away, the Scots distanced themselves from the AMCATS ultimately taking an eight point lead for a final score of 87-79. Sean Zabari led the charge for the AMCATS with 15 points on the evening. Gabe Armstead and Nolan Serafin followed close behind with fourteen points each.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • The AMCATS haven't started a season with three losses since 2019.
  • Nolan Serafin posted a career high of 14 points against the Scots.

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday, November 19th where they will head to New London, CT to take on the Mitchell College Mariners for a non-conference matchup. Opening tipoff is set for 6:00pm.
