AUBURN, MA - On Thursday, December 5th the Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team hosted the Framingham State University Rams for a MASCAC matchup. The AMCATS won the game 7-2.
The game opened up with an early AMCATS goal after Liam Wells managed to squeak his first career goal past the Rams just three minutes into the first period. Wells goal was the only one scored in the first period as Matthew Hennessy kept the Rams scoreless with 12 saves.
Leading by just one goal, the AMCATS got off to a quick start in the second period with a goal from Max Wennerberg just over a minute into the period. The AMCATS found the back of the net two more times in the second period with both goals coming from Guillaume Coulombe. Despite the 4-0 lead as the second period came to a close, the Rams managed to cut the AMCATS lead in half with two quick goals before time ran out.
With just a two goal lead at the start of the third period, the AMCATS struck fast after a goal from Derek Raposo off a face-off in the Rams zone resulted in the AMCATS fifth goal of the evening. Almost half way through the third period, Samson Mouland would tuck in the AMCATS sixth goal with some help from Braeden McKinnon. Liam Wells closed the evening out with his second career goal to help the AMCATS beat the Rams 7-2.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, December 7th where they will head down to road to face off against the Lancers of Worcester State University for a conference matchup. Opening puck drop is set for 5:30pm at the Worcester Ice Center.
