AUBURN, MA - On Sunday, November 17th the Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team hosted the Continentals of Hamilton College for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 5-1.
Hamilton opened up the scoring for the evening with a power play goal ten minutes into the first period. The Continentals would follow up with a goal almost three minutes later to take a 2-0 lead over the AMCATS. Hamilton would keep their momentum going early into the second period with a goal just two minutes into the period. Matthew Hennessey would stop 19 shots in the second period to keep the Continentals lead to just three.
The game wouldn't see another goal until 13 minutes into the third period where the Continentals tucked in their fourth goal of the evening. The AMCATS however would finally respond with a goal from Max Pelletier off a pass from Tobias Omholt, making it a 4-1 game however Hamilton would add a fifth goal to their tally just two minutes later to put the comeback out of reach for the AMCATS. The game would end with a final score of 5-1.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Matthew Hennessey made a season high of 45 saves in the loss to the Continentals.
- Max Pelletier scored his first career goal against the Continentals.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Thursday, November 21st where they will host the Westfield State University Owls for their first MASCAC matchup of the season. Opening puckdrop is set for 5:40pm at the Horgan Arena in Auburn, MA.
