Colonels March Past Men's Ice Hockey 5-2

CANTON, MA - On Saturday, January 4th the Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team traveled to Canton, MA to take on the Colonels of Curry College for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 5-2.

The Colonels got the jump on the AMCATS in the first period with a goal just eight minutes into play. Nearly eight minutes later the Colonels would tack on a second goal to make it a 2-0 game as the first period came to a close.

Matthew Gilbert got the AMCATS up on the board early on in the second period with an unassisted goal however the Colonels responded quick to regain a two goal lead over the AMCATS. The second period would close out with a score of 3-1 in favor of the Colonels.

The AMCATS saw an early momentum shift in the third period resulting in a power play goal from Brandon Della Paolera off a pass from Pearce Baker and Jeremy Dewar. The Colonels however would add some insurance late in the game with two goals to extend their lead to 5-2.

COMING UP:

Men's ice hockey is back in action on Thursday, January 9th where they will host the Trailblazers of MCLA for a MASCAC Conference matchup. Opening puck drop is set for 5:40pm at the Horgan Arena in Auburn, MA.
