
Denison Goes 5 for 5 In Win Over Hornets
NORTHBOROUGH, MA – The Anna Maria College baseball team put together a dominant offensive performance on Wednesday, March 20th, 2025, defeating Vermont State Lyndon 19-11 in a game filled with big hits, aggressive baserunning, and timely execution.
Anna Maria jumped out early, scoring five runs in the first two innings, highlighted by sacrifice flies from Jeremy Rosenberg and Jonathan Guardascione and a two-RBI double from Dillon Darnbrough. The AMCATS continued to tack on runs in nearly every frame, building a 14-7 lead by the end of the seventh inning.
The offensive surge reached its peak in the bottom of the eighth, when Anna Maria plated five more runs, including a triple by Tommy Sasso, an RBI single from Guardascione, and an RBI single from Andrew Denison to cap off the night.
Despite a push from Vermont State Lyndon in the middle innings, including a five-run fifth that briefly tied the game, the AMCATS answered every rally with production of their own. A total of eight different AMCATS drove in runs, and the team collected 18 hits on the day.

- Andrew Denison was nearly unstoppable at the plate, going 5-for-5 with 3 runs scored, 2 RBIs, and 4 stolen bases.
- Jonathan Guardascione delivered in key moments, going 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs including two sacrifice flies and two run-scoring singles.
- Dillon Darnbrough added 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 doubles, helping spark the AMCATS early in the game.

The AMCATS return to action on Friday March 28th 2025 where they will travel to Franklin, MA to take on the Bulldogs of Dean College.
