
Baseball Falls Short Against Falcons
FITCHBURG, MA - On Wednesday, April 2nd the Anna Maria College baseball team traveled to Fitchburg, MA to take on the Fitchburg State University Falcons for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 2-1.
After a scoreless first two innings of play, the Falcons were the first to capitalize as a wild pitch from the AMCATS gave fitchburg their first run of the game. The Falcons would score again in the bottom of the fourth to take a 2-0 lead before Evan Dumeny answered for the AMCATS with a homer out to left field. Unfortunately Dumeny's homer would be the last run scored for the remainder of the game as both teams held each other scoreless for the last four innings of play.
AJ Guitron Moore started the game on the mound for the AMCATS pitching 4 innings with just 1 earned run while also punching out 6 batters in the process. Quinn Salvi closed the game out for the AMCATS with 4 innings pitched and 4 strikeouts while allowing just one hit.

COMING UP:
The AMCATS will be back in action on Friday, April 4th where they will head down to Providence, RI to take on the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference doubleheader. Game one is set for 1:00pm followed by a 3:30pm start for game two.
