Field Hockey Edged By Falcons

PAXTON, MA—The Anna Maria College field hockey team traveled to New Haven, CT for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference Matchup. The AMCATS fell to the Falcons 1 to 0.

The AMCATS would battle with the Falcons, during the first two quarters. It would be both teams going back and forth with opportunities and chances. It would be the Falcons to get several chances at the end of the quarters, but it would be the AMCAT defense to keep them off the board.

The third quarter would be tightly played for both teams, going back and forth with opportunities, but it would be both teams to remain off the scoreboard. The final quarter would not be what the AMCATS hoped for, as they would find themselves down 1 to 0 to the Falcons with a goal from Amelie Thaesler. It would be the AMCATS with their constant push of offense, and multiple chances, but would have no luck, the Falcons goalie Ella Welton would keep the AMCATS off the board. The AMCATS would not allow another goal for the Falcons but would fall short, as they would not be able to connect and find the back of the net, to get on the scoreboard. The AMCATS would face defeat against the Falcons losing the game 1 to 0.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Lily Celta led the AMCATS in shots with 2 against the Falcons.
