Field Hockey Falls To Raiders On Senior Day

PAXTON, MA - On Saturday, October 12, 2024, the Anna Maria College Field Hockey team hosted the Raiders of Rivier University for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 8 to 0. 

The first half of the game for the AMCATS was all defense as they were outshot 24-6 and allowing two goals. Both goals for the Raiders would come in the first quarter before the AMCAT goalie Carly Dedrick, would keep the AMCATS hopes alive, shutting the door on the Raiders to end the first half of the game. The AMCATS would go into the second half of the game down to the Raiders 2 to 0. 

The second half of the game wouldn't go in the direction the AMCATS hoped for as they would allow three goals throughout the third quarter, followed by three more goals in the final quarter of the evening. The Raiders would take down the AMCATS 8 to 0, on senior day.

Congratulations to Carly Drew on her incredible career at Anna Maria. We are grateful for all that you have contributed to Anna Maria both on and off the field. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

• Carly Dedrick would have 28 saves in the loss to the Raiders. 
• The AMCATS were outshoot by the Raiders 31 to 5. 
• This marks the second year in a row, that the AMCATS were defeated by the Raiders. 

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday October 16, 2024, where they will travel to Chicopee, MA for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Game is set to start at 7:00pm.
