PAXTON, MA - On October 22, 2024, the Anna Maria College Field Hockey team hosted the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 7 to 0.
The first half of the game would not go in the AMCATS favor as they would get outshot 13-0 allowing five goals. The first goal of the game for the Wildcats would come with about five minutes left in the first quarter, it would then be AMCAT goalie Carly Dedrick who would shut the door for the rest of the first quarter on the Wildcats. It would then be all Wildcats action, with opportunities and chances that would lead to goals. The Wildcats would find the back of the net four times in the second quarter, to end the first half of the game leading the AMCATS 5 to 0.
The second half of the game wouldn't go much better for the AMCATS as they would allow two more goals to the Wildcats. Despite the score standing at 7-0 in favor of the Wildcats, the AMCATS did manage to get two shots on goal against the Wildcats, but the Wildcats would manage to keep the AMCATS off the board. AMCATS goalie Carly Dedrick would record an impressive 18 saves on 25 shots in the game.
