Field Hockey Bested By Bulldogs 2-0

PAXTON, MA - On Saturday, September 21st the Anna Maria College field hockey team hosted the Dean College Bulldogs for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 2-0.

The AMCATS showed some promise in the first quarter of the game, as they put some pressure on the Bulldogs defense. With a key scoring opportunity, the AMCATS found the back of the net only to have the goal called back by the officials in the second quarter as the game held steady at zero for the remainder of the first half. Despite almost taking the lead, the AMCATS were outshot by the Bulldogs in the first half.

After the intermission, the Bulldogs kicked things into gear as they found the first goal of the afternoon just 18 seconds into the third quarter off the stick of Emily Yazzetti.. Just two minutes later, Yazzetti would find the back of the net yet again scoring her second goal of the day off a penalty shot. The AMCATS would find themselves trailing 2-0 as the game enter the fourth and final quarter. Unable to find an equalizer, the AMCATS would end up falling to the Bulldogs, 2-0.

  • Carly Dedrick sits with 80 saves so far this season with just 4 games played.
  • Despite holding a career low of 6.00 GAA, Dedrick has a career high of .793 SV% so far this season.

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday, September 25th where they will host the Bridgewater State University Bears for a non-conference matchup. Game is set to start at 5:00pm.
