Dedrick Stops 18 In Loss To Monks

PAXTON, MA - On Friday, September 27th the Anna Maria College field hockey team hosted the Monks of Saint Joseph's (ME) for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 2-0.

The Monks kicked things off for the evening, scoring their first goal just a minute and thirty seconds into the first quarter. It would be almost twelve minutes before the game saw another goal, but it would be the Monks scoring their second goal of the evening taking a 2-0 lead as the first quarter came to a close.

The remainder of the game would be held scoreless with the help of Carly Dedrick holding down the back end for the AMCATS. Stopping 18 of her 20 shots faced, Dedrick gave the AMCATS a fighting chance as they trailed by just two goals leading into the fourth and final quarter. However despite the defensive effort from the AMCATS, they were unable to find the back of the net resulting in a 2-0 loss to the Monks.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday, October 2nd where they will head to Newton, MA to take on the Lasell University Lasers for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Game is set to start at 5:00pm.
