PAULHUS CAREER HIGH NIGHT POWERS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL OVER FALCONS

PAXTON, MA- On Wednesday February 12th, 2025, the Anna Maria College women's basketball team hosted the Falcons of Albertus Magnus for a conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 93 to 76.
In the first quarter, the AMCATS would silence the Falcons completely putting up 23 points compared to the 12 points the Falcons would get in the first quarter. The AMCATS would continue with all the momentum and scoring as they would continue to pile on the scoring with 20 more points in the second quarter compared to the Falcons 17 points. At halftime, the AMCATS would be completely dominating the Falcons outscoring them 43 to 29, taking them into half time with a confident lead.
During the third quarter, the AMCATS would come out of half time with the same total domination as the AMCATS would score 28 more points while the AMCATS would limit the Falcons to 19 points in the third quarter. The AMCATS total domination and offensive scoring skills would lead them into the final quarter of the game with a substantial lead against the Falcons, with a score of 71 to 48. In the fourth quarter, the AMCATS would continue to totally dominate and would score 22 more points to add to their lead in the fourth and limit the Falcons to 22. Despite the Falcons scoring their most points of the night, in the fourth quarter, the AMCATS would still outscore them in all four quarters of the game. The total domination and complete control for the AMCATS would put the game away against the Falcons, with a score in favor of the AMCATS 93 to 76.
For the AMCATS Madison Paulhus was the leading scorer with 26 points. Arianna Gonzalez would also have a strong performance, scoring 20 points, in her outing against the Falcons. Marinique Reddin would also contribute for the AMCATS scoring a total of 19 points.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Marinique Reddin would lead the AMCATS in rebounds with 14 and 11 defensive rebounds against the Falcons.
- Tiffany Salazar would lead the AMCATS with 5 assists in the matchup.
- Madison Paulhus would have a season high and career high of points in a game with 26 against the Falcons.
- This marks the third straight GNAC conference game win in a row for the AMCATS.
COMING UP:
The AMCATS will be back in action on February 18th, 2025 where they will travel to Chicopee, MA to take on the Blazers of Elms College. Opening tip-off is set for 5:00pm.
