Women's Basketball Handles Falcons At Home

PAXTON, MA - On Monday, December 2nd the Anna Maria College women's basketball team hosted the Falcons of Fitchburg State University for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 90-61.

The AMCATS took an early nine point lead over the Falcons in the first quarter. Kiara Gauthier would lead the AMCATS with seven points while Madison Paulhus and Marinique Reddin followed close behind with six points each. 

Reddin would tally eight more points in the second quarter to help push the AMCATS to a fifteen point lead over the Falcons for a score of 42- 27. It wasn't until the third quarter that the AMCATS truly surged past the Falcons after putting up thirty points compared to the Falcons 16. Arianna Gonzalez led the AMCATS offense in the third quarter with 10 points including 2 three pointers.

The game would come to a close with the Falcons going tit for tat with the AMCATS in an 18-18 fourth quarter effort however it wasn't enough to close the gap and the AMCATS would end the game with a 29 point differential and a season high of 90 points. Marinique Reddin led the AMCATS with 26 points while Madison Paulhus posted 19 points in the effort against the Falcons.

  • Marinique Reddin sits just eight rebounds away from the school record for career rebounds.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday, December 10th where they will head to Boston, MA to take on the Fisher College Falcons for a non-conference matchup. Opening tip off is set for 6:00pm.
