NOR'EASTERS SINK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL 78-58
BIDDFORD, ME- On Saturday, November 9th the Anna Maria College women's basketball team traveled to Biddeford, ME for a non-conference matchup against the Nor'Easters of the University of New England. The AMCATS lost the game 78-58.
The AMCATS struggled in the first quarter, allowing the Nor'Easters to take complete control outscoring them 18 to 10. Trailing by eight points, the AMCATS would tighten things up in the second quarter scoring fifteen points, and only trailing to the Nor'Easters heading into half by 13 points. The AMCATS would hope to use that momentum gained in the second quarter, into the second part of the game.
The AMCATS would put up a more competitive second half against the Nor'Easters, but it would be the Nor'Easters to come out on top against the AMCATS in the third quarter. Despite a 20-point run from the AMCATS, the Nor'Easters would manage to score 24 points against the AMCATS in the third quarter, going into the last quarter the AMCATS would look to hang on against the Nor'Easters trailing by 13. The AMCATS would continue the offensive push, in the fourth quarter giving it their all, but the Nor'Easters would take complete control putting up several points in the fourth which would prove to be too much for the AMCATS. Despite the AMCATS offensive run, they would fall short to the Nor'Easters, with a score of 78 to 58.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Marinique Reddin would lead the AMCATS in points with 23 on the day against the Nor'Easters.
COMING UP:
The AMCATS will be back in action on Monday November 18, 2024, where they will head to Dudley MA to take on the Bison of Nichols College. Opening tip-off is set for 5:30pm
