Wilson Earns WACBA Player of the Week

WACBA WEEKLY RELEASE

PAXTON, MA - The Anna Maria College women's basketball team saw junior student-athlete, Amber Wilson (New York, NY) take home Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Player Of The Week honors as announced by the organization this afternoon.

The guard helped the squad go 1-1 last week that included a monster double-double in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener against Rivier when she dropped 30 points and 16 rebounds. Wilson also stuffed the stat sheet when she dished out four assists and swatted away two shots. Despite dropping their next game against 2018-19 GNAC champion, Emmanuel, Wilson had a solid game after scoring nine points, brought down 12 rebounds, had six assists, five steals, and two more blocks. After her 12 rebound performance, Wilson now has had double-digit rebounds in four out of her last five games. For the week, Wilson averaged a double-double of 19.5 points and 14 boards on 44.4 percent shooting.  She also averaged five assists, and two blocks to finish off the week.

Wilson and the AMCATS continue GNAC play tonight when they host Suffolk University at 7 PM and finish off the week against GNAC member, Lasell University on Saturday, January 25 at 1 PM.
