Powers Dominates Face-offs In Win Over Lions
PAXTON, MA – The Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 on the season after overcoming a slow start to secure a 10-7 victory at home.
The AMCATS struggled in the opening quarter, conceding four unanswered goals and falling behind early. The second quarter saw a tighter defensive effort, with both teams limiting scoring opportunities. Anna Maria managed to find the back of the net before halftime, heading into the break trailing 5-1.
Coming out of halftime, the AMCATS completely flipped the momentum. The offense exploded in the third quarter, scoring six goals while the defense stepped up to hold the opposition to just one. With a dominant performance in transition and at the faceoff X, Anna Maria took control of the game and carried a 7-6 lead into the final quarter.
The AMCATS closed out the game strong, adding three more goals in the fourth while maintaining defensive pressure to limit scoring chances. With key contributions on both ends of the field, Anna Maria completed the comeback to remain undefeated on the season.
