MEN'S LACROSSE DOMINATE IN 9-2 WIN OVER MCLA
PAXTON, MA – On Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, the Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team hosted MCLA in a non-conference matchup at Caparso Field. The AMCATS controlled the game from start to finish, securing a 9-2 victory and improving to 2-0 on the season.
Anna Maria set the tone early, outscoring MCLA 4-0 in the first quarter. Nathan Powers opened the scoring with a man-up goal at 8:49, and the AMCATS continued their offensive push with goals from Liam Bedenkop (2:17), Eric Farrell (1:36), and Bedenkop again (0:25) to take a commanding lead.
MCLA found the scoreboard in the second quarter with a goal by Cameron LaFerriere (11:25), but Anna Maria responded before halftime with a goal from Ben Hardy (0:14) to maintain a 5-1 advantage.
The third quarter was a defensive battle, with both teams unable to score despite multiple shot attempts and key saves by Caden Rakes in net for the AMCATS.
In the fourth quarter, Anna Maria pulled away, outscoring MCLA 4-1 in the final frame. Powers (11:30) added his second goal of the game, followed by Jeremy Dewar (7:26) and Eric Farrell (6:27) to make it 8-1. Logan Danarvma (4:02) netted the final AMCATS goal on a man-up opportunity. MCLA's Neal Brierley (0:57) scored late, but the AMCATS closed out the game comfortably for the 9-2 win.
