Wilson Named GNAC Women's Basketball Player Of The Week

GNAC WEEKLY RELEASE

PAXTON, MA - Junior forward, Amber Wilson (New York, NY) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Basketball Player Of The Week as announced by the conference office this afternoon. 

Wilson helped the AMCATS go 1-1 last week that included a big GNAC win over the Lasell University Lasers. In the squad's first game of the week against the Suffolk Rams, Wilson had a solid performance of 25 points (8-17) and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. However, against the Lasers, Wilson filled up the stat sheet as she scored 31 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, and three blocks.

After her strong performances this week, Wilson now has seven double-doubles on the season and scored 20+ points 10 times this year and 30+ points three times. She wrapped up the week averaging a double-double (28.0 points/11.0 rebounds) and contributed 4.5 assists, and 2.0 blocks last week. She also shot 51.2% overall (21-41 FG, 4-13 3PT, 10-14 FT) which included a 13-of-24 performance in the Lasell victory. 

Coming up this week for Wilson and AMCATS, the team travels to Saint Joesph's (ME) on Wednesday, January 29 at 5:30 PM. Anna Maria wraps up the week hosting Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, February 1 at 1 PM.
