2020 Hall of Fame Spotlight: Meghan DePatsy '07

PAXTON, MA –Women’s basketball and soccer player Meghan DePatsy ’07 will be inducted into the Anna Maria College Athletic Department Hall of Fame as a member of the 2020 Hall of Fame Class on Saturday, March 25, 2023. The Hall of Fame ceremony for the 2020 class was postponed due to a weather postponement and then the COVID pandemic. This marks the 7th Hall of Fame class at Anna Maria, the Hall of Fame was founded in 1993. The five 2020 inductees will join the 26 current Hall of Fame Members which include athletes, coaches, administrators and staff. The Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves through their involvement in Anna Maria’s athletic program and who have demonstrated outstanding character, leadership, commitment, and sportsmanship.

"The Hall of Fame Committee, athletics department, and the college is excited to induct the 2020 Hall of Fame Class into the Anna Maria College Hall of Fame on March 25th. This class has waited over two years for this rightfully deserved honor. This group joins a great group of Hall of Fame members," commented Joe Brady '96, Director of Athletics. "I am excited to be a part of my first induction ceremony soon and this special occasion for these four outstanding individuals. We also look forward to celebrating Kelly's accomplishments in the fall." 

Depatsy is arguably considered one of the best scorers in AMCATS women’s basketball history. Her illustrious career included Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference first-team honors in her senior season and second team honors in her junior season. She was a two-time All-Academic recipient for the CCC. Depatsy is the only AMCAT to average a double-double in a season, 14.5 points per game and 10.6 rebounds per game in 2006-2007.

DePatsy’s name can be found all over the women’s basketball record book, highlighted by her 18.4 points per game in a career (1st) and 940 career points (15th). Including her two years at Salem State, she scored 1,460 career points (which would put her third on the all-time Anna Maria player list). She is fifth overall with 253 career free throws made, fourth overall in career free throw percentage (73.1), fourth overall with 426 career defensive rebounds and second with 124 career blocks.

Along with her career highlights, DePatsy had many notable single game records in her two-year career: most points in a game with 38 vs Eastern Nazarene,  most defensive rebounds in a game with 21 vs Coast Guard and eight blocks against Albertus Magnus (1st).

Before arriving at Anna Maria, DePatsy was a member of the Salem State women’s basketball team where she earned 2003-2004 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Rookie of the year honors. She helped lead the Vikings to the MASCAC 2004-2005 championship before the team went on to make an appearance in the NCAA Division III women’s basketball tournament. 

In addition to her standout women’s basketball career, DePatsy played for the Anna Maria women’s soccer team for two seasons. In 2006 she led the team in goals (seven) and was second in points (14).

DePatsy graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 2003. She is currently a therapist (LICSW) with Revidas LLC. Following graduation in 2007, she worked at the Department of Children and Families for 12 years in a supervisor and manager role. DePatsy has two sons, Cullen and  Colm.
