SHARAYAH SCOTT-CUMMINS, WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Sophomore women’s basketball player Sharayah Scott- Cummins was named the AMCAT Spotlight Player of the Week for games played February 17th through the 23rd. Scott- Cummins would play a stellar conference game against the Blazers of Elms College on the road at Chicopee, MA. She racked up 14 total points, 1 rebound, and 3 assists. She was one of the leading scorers in the game against the Blazers. Gonzalez would not only put-up impressive numbers offensively but was also powerful on the defensive side of the ball for the AMCATS as one of the leaders in steals against the Blazers with 4 steals. She would drive hard into the paint offensively and would secure multiple steals to help the AMCATS come out on top with a 74 to 55 win over the Bulldogs. As if Gonzalez numbers were not impressive enough on Wednesday against the Bulldogs, she would put on a stellular and phenomenal performance against the Saints of Emmanuel College on Saturday. She was the leading scorer for the AMCATS totaling 23 points, which would be a career night in points for Scott- Cummins. Sharayah career night would be sensational on both sides of the ball with tally yet another steal, to the week against the Saints. She would not only tally steals, and points, she would continue to put up impressive rebound numbers with 2 offensive rebounds to keep the AMCATS with the ball in the offensive side of the court. Her career night would power the AMCATS over the Saints of Emmanuel 63 to 58. Scott- Cummins would help the AMCATS to finish the regular season off with 5 straight wins, and to make it even more memorable their all-conference wins against powerful teams. She has a total of 204 points 58 assists, 32 steals and 78 rebounds to wrap up the regular season for the AMCATS. Scott- Cummins would look to use her impressive offensive and defensive skills to help power the AMCATS in the post season as that is what is next for the AMCATS women’s basketball team.
The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday February 25, where they will travel to Connecticut to take on the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College for the GNAC quarterfinals. Opening Tip-Off is set for 5:30pm.
