Sophomore women’s ice hockey goaltender Megan Tegethoff was named AMCAT Spotlight Player of the Week for games played January 13th through the 19th. The AMCATS would travel to Plymouth State to take on the Panthers, it would be Tegethoff  who would play an outstanding game against the Panthers, stopping 36 shots in the matchup. It would be Megan to keep the AMCATS in the game and forcing a shootout after multiple tremendous saves in overtime. Due to Tegethoff outstanding play in net  during the game and into the shootout not allowing a single goal and the AMCATS bringing the offense in the shootout the AMCATS would come out on top of the Panthers in the shootout 3 to 2. Megan would find herself back in the net against the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales. Tegethoff would be forced to make multiple saves in the matchup, to keep the AMCATS in the game. She would be forced to make a total of 37 saves in the game, keeping the game against the Wildcats in reach for the AMCATS. Tegethoff outstanding play against the Panthers and the Wildcats would secure another game for her against the Lancers of Worcester State. Tegethoff was forced to make stellular saves against the Lancers of Worcester State keeping the AMCATS in the game. The AMCATS would come out strong offensively to score four goals against the Lancers. Megan would shut the door against the Lancers not allowing them to come back and tie the game against the AMCATS. The  play of the AMCATS and the performance of Tegethoff would secure the win against the Lancers. She would post a remarkable 27 save night against the Lancers of Worcester State. The exceptional performance from Tegethoff this week would record a .942 save percentage, 2.07 goals against average and a total of 98 saves on the weekend. Megan Tegethoff sensational week would award her with MASCAC Goalie of the Week Honors. 

The AMCATS will be back in action on Friday January 24, 2025 where they will travel to Keene, NH to take on the Owls of Keene State. Opening puck drop is set for 7:45pm.
