Matthew Hennessey, Men's Ice Hockey
Sophomore men’s ice hockey goaltender Matthew Hennessey was named AMCAT Spotlight Player of the Week for games played January 27, 2025, to February 2nd, 2025. The men’s ice hockey team would travel to Framingham to take on the Rams of Framingham State. Hennessey would keep the AMCATS in the game making stellular saves in the opening minutes in the game leading down to the closing minutes in the game. The AMCATS would use their offensive power to score two against the Rams of Framingham State. It would be Hennessey to absolutely shut the door on the Rams and use his exceptional skill to make strong saves on the Rams forwards to keep the Rams off the scoreboard and post a shutout for his third shutout of the season. Hennessey’s impressive performance against the Rams this weekend would post 0.00 goals against average and a 1.000 save percentage on the weekend. Hennessey incredible play so far this season would have him with 2.33 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.
The men’s ice hockey team will be back in action on Thursday February 7, where they will host the Lancers of Worcester State. Opening face-off is set for 5:40pm at the Horgan Arena in Auburn, MA.
