Bingham-Hendricks and Celata Take Home GNAC All-Conference Awards

GNAC PRESS RELEASE

PAXTON, MA - The Anna Maria College field hockey team saw two student-athletes earn Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors for their efforts on the season as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Chayna Bingham-Hendricks (Mashpee, MA) was selected for the GNAC All-Conference Second Team and Abigayle Celata (Baldwinville, MA) earned a spot on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Bingham-Hendricks had yet another strong season for the AMCATS as she had a career-high in assists (eight) and tacked on four goals to give her 16 points for the year. In regards to team stats, Bingham-Hendricks ranked fourth in goals, first in assists, first in points, and second in shots.

In GNAC action, Bingham-Hendricks continued her strong play as she totaled one goal and three assists for five points. For the entire conference, Bingham-Hendricks ranked third in assists and only trailed the conference leader by two.

Celata was also a key contributor to the AMCATS this season. On the field, she had career high's in goals (four), assists (six), and points (14). For the team, Celata ranked fifth in goals, second in assists, second in points, and sixth in shots. In GNAC action, Celata contributed three goals and three assists for nine points. Looking at the entire conference, Celata was tied for sixth in assists and only four behind the leader.

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 13 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region.
