Lions Scratch Passed Women's Basketball

QUINCY, MA - On Thursday, November 16th the Anna Maria College Women's Basketball team traveled to Quincy, MA to take on the Eastern Nazarene Lions for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 90-67.

The game started off with a close first quarter, with Eastern Nazarene leading by just two points, 17-15. However the Lions pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring the AMCATS 26-20 and extending their lead to 8 points at halftime. The third quarter saw the Lions further extend their lead, outscoring Anna Maria 22-19. In the final quarter, the Lions maintained control of the game, adding another 25 points to their total. Despite a late effort by Anna Maria, they were unable to close the gap, resulting in a 23-point victory for Eastern Nazarene.

Leading the way for Anna Maria was Arianna Gonzalez, who scored 19 points while shooting an impressive 70% from the field. Gina Parmenter also had a solid performance, contributing 18 points, including six three-pointers. However, Anna Maria struggled as a team, shooting just 35% from the field and committing 28 turnovers

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Arianna Gonzalez led the AMCATS with 19 points, going 7-10 on field goals and 5-7 on three pointers.
  • Gina Parmenter went 6-16 on field goals and 6-13 on three pointers for a total of 18 points.
  • Marinique Reddin went 5-6 on the free throw line.
