Women's Basketball Comes Up Short Against Chargers

NEW LONDON, NH - On Saturday, February 3rd the Anna Maria College women's basketball team traveled to New London, NH to take on the Colby Sawyer Chargers for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 59-56.

The first quarter started with a competitive display from both teams, with Anna Maria taking a small lead of 19-17. However, Colby-Sawyer fought back in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 8-10 and lowering the deficit to just two points heading into halftime.

The third quarter saw a similar trend, with Anna Maria holding onto their lead with a score of 40-39. Despite their efforts, Colby-Sawyer made a strong push in the fourth quarter, scoring 22 points to Anna Maria's 12. This final surge allowed them to secure the win with a three-point margin.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Monday, February 5th where they will host the Nichols College Bison at the Fuller Center in Paxton, MA. Opening tip off is set for 6:00pm.
