Cadets March Past Men's Lacrosse 15-6

NORTHFIELD, VT - On Saturday, March 16th the Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team traveled to Northfield, VT to take on the Norwich University Cadets for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 15-6.

Norwich opened up the game with a pair of early goals to take a 2-0 lead over the AMCATS. It was until almost nine minutes into the first quarter that Aiden Foster found the back of the net to cut the Cadets lead in half. unfortunately a goal with less than a minute left to go in the quarter gave the Cadets their third goal of the day.

The AMCATS were met in the second quarter with six unanswered goals from the Cadets to make it a 9-1 game. With a little over a minute left to go in the first half, Alex Williams found the back of the net for his first career NCAA goal to make it 9-2 going into the second half.

The AMCATS picked up the pace in the third quarter after giving up an early goal, Liam Bedenkop scored back to back goals for the AMCATS in an attempt to build some momentum. Unfortunately, the Cadets tacked on three more goals to close out the third quarter with a score of 13-4.

Bedenkop came out flying in the fourth scoring just two minutes into the quarter. The Cadets answered back quick with a pair of goals before Bedenkop added his fourth goal of the day to close the game out with a score of 15-6 in favor of the Cadets.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Wednesday, March 20th where they will head out to Boston, MA to take on the Emmanuel College Saints for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening face-off is set for 7:00pm.
