Moran Leads Men’s Soccer In 2-1 Win Over Raiders

PAXTON, MA. – On Saturday, October 7th the Anna Maria College Men's Soccer team hosted the Rivier University Raiders for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS won the game 2-1.

The AMCATS kicked things off early with a goal from Rubelsi Moran almost eleven minutes into the game. The AMCATS would then battle back and fourth with the Raiders for the next thirty minutes. With just 38 seconds left on the clock in the first half, the Raiders managed to tie things up with a goal from Mitchell Ward.

Dead even to start the second half, the AMCATS needed to get some offense right off the jump. Hezekiah Adeyeye set the tone with a shot on net early in the half. The AMCATS would manage three shots on net before Moran finally broke through the Raiders defense with a goal off a Mark Cavallaro corner kick giving the AMCATS the game winning goal with 17 minutes left to play. Valter Santiago held down the fort for the AMCATS for the remainder of the half to help secure Anna Marias second win of the season.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Monday, October 9th where they will host the Johnson and Wales Wildcats for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening kickoff is at 12:30pm.
