Blue Jays Fly Past Women's Lacrosse

PAXTON, MA. – The Anna Maria Women's lacrosse team (2-3) traveled to West Hartford, Connecticut to take on the Blue Jays of Saint Joseph on Tuesday March 26, 2023. The Blue Jays would win the game 17 to 4. 

In the first quarter the Blue Jays would be first to strike taking the lead 1-0, but it would be Makayla Gleba for the AMCATS assisted by Kourtney Mielke to tie the Blue Jays 1 to 1. It would then be the Blue Jays to get seven consecutive goals in the first quarter to lead 8 to 1over the AMCATS. 

In the second quarter the AMCATS would get two goals, but the Blue Jays would put up four more goals to add to their lead 12 to 3. This would conclude the scoring for the first half with the AMCATS trailing by nine goals. 

The third quarter would be only Blue Jays, as they would score two more goals to increase their lead 14 to 3. The AMCATS would be kept off the board in the third quarter with no goals, so they would head into the fourth quarter trailing 14 to 3. 

The fourth quarter the Blue Jays would come out strong scoring three consecutive goals increasing their lead to 17 to 3. The AMCATS would get their fourth goal of the game from Ivy Ballou and they now would be trailing the Blue Jays by 13 goals. That would conclude the game, and Up Next:

- The AMCATS are 0-4 in their last four meetings with the Bluejays.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, March 30, 2024, where they will host the Colby-Sawyer Chargers for a conference matchup. Opening draw is set for 12:00pm at CaparsoField in Paxton, MA.
