Field Hockey Shuts Down Bulldogs For 4-0 Win

FRANKLIN, MA. – On Saturday, September 23rd the Anna Maria College field hockey team traveled to Franklin, MA for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup against the Dean College Bulldogs. The AMCATS won the game 4-0.

Scoreless for the first twenty three minutes of the game, the AMCATS wouldn't get their first opportunity until a penalty corner from Eden Forget set up a goal for Meghan Sonia giving the AMCATS the 1-0 lead going into the second half of the game.

Just over eight minutes into the third quarter, the AMCATS tacked on their second goal of the day after freshman Kennedy Etheridge put away her first goal of the season increasing Anna Marias lead to two. That wouldn't be the end of the scoring for the AMCATS in the third quarter as Sonia set up Forget for the AMCATS third goal. The Bulldogs would hold off the AMCATS for most of the fourth quarter before Nicole Lacoste added some insurance for the AMCATS off the pass from freshman August Otto. Lacoste goal came with just three minutes left to play resulting in and AMCATS 4-0 win over the Bulldogs. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The AMCATS defense held the Bulldogs to zero shots on goal throughout the entirety of the game. 
  • Meg Sonia recorded her first multi point game of the season with a goal and an assist in the win.
  • Kennedy Etheridge recorded her first career NCAA goal against the Bulldogs.
