Field Hockey Gets Non-Conference Win Over Bears

PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College field hockey team took on Bridgewater State at Caparso Field in a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS recorded their first win of the season by a score of 3-1.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS

• The AMCATS got goals from freshman midfielder Alexandria Keith (5:28), graduate student forward Ashley Garcia (12:11), and junior forward Nicole LaCoste (52:51).
• The goal for Keith (Pine Bush, NY) was the first of her collegiate career, and was assisted by Carly Drew (Rochester, MA). The goal evened the score.
• The goal for Garcia came in her season debut with an assist credited to Lexis Medina (Enfield, CT).
• LaCoste's goal was the third of her career and her first of the season. Madison-Marie Romano (Lebanon, ME) was credited with the assist on this goal.
• Senior goalkeeper Hannah Tobey (Falmouth, MA) earned her first win of the year but saw her streak of six consecutive games with double-digit saves snapped. She entered play today tied for second in saves and tied for fourth in saves per game in all of Division III.
• The Bears' goal was scored by Sophia Morse (West Bridgewater, MA) and assisted by Hannah Rolfe (Easton, MA).

UP NEXT:

Anna Maria will be in action again on Saturday when they will travel to face-off against GNAC opponent the University of St. Joseph's (CT) at the USJ Athletics Complex. The teams will take the field for a noon start.
