Madison-Marie Romano Named To GNAC Field Hockey All-Conference Third Team

Winthrop, MA...Anna Maria field hockey freshman defender Madison-Marie Romano (Lebannon, MA) was named to the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Field Hockey All-Conference Third Team. Romano started in all 17 games in her first season for the AMCATS at defense and missed in every minute except for three in the 17 games. She helped the AMCATS to a 7-10 overall record and 6-5 league record.  The AMCATS won three games in a row in late September and then went on a four-game conference win streak in October qualifying for the GNAC tournament as the seventh seed.

Romano recorded two goals and three assists while helping the AMCATS record two shutouts. She scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over conference opponent Albertus-Magnus while adding two assists.
