Wildcats Outlast Field Hockey to Wrap Regular Season

PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College field hockey team closed out their regular season when they hosted Johnson & Wales (RI) University on Wednesday afternoon for some Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Caparso Field.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS

  • While there is no such thing as a moral victory in sports, the AMCATS kept the second-highest scoring team in the GNAC scoreless through the first 30 minutes despite being outshot 14-0. The Wildcats held a 25-1 edge in shots for the game.
  • Senior goalkeeper Hannah Tobey recorded 15 saves on 18 shots on goal. The 15 saves increased her season total to 158. The 15 saves also moved her career total past the 300 mark to 301.
  • Freshman midfielder Madison-Marie Romano (Lebanon, ME) had the AMCATS loan shot but a Wildcat defender blocked it.
