Regis Puts Up Three Against Women’s Soccer

PAXTON, MA. – On Wednesday, September 27th the Anna Maria College Women's Soccer team hosted the Regis College Pride for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 3-0.

The Pride would get things going early after an unlucky bounce for the AMCATS resulted in a Regis goal. Colleen Curran would be given the goal as the last Pride player that touched it before the ball went in off the body of Raegan Hachey. Despite the bad bounce, the AMCATS managed to hold off the Pride for the remainder of the first half with Kortney Clark stopping six out of the seven shots that came her way. 

After a fifteen minute intermission the AMCATS were met with a refreshed Regis team. The Pride managed two shots on goal with a flurry of attempts in the first five minutes of the half. It wouldn't be long before the Pride struck again scoring their second goal of the evening just fifteen minutes into the half. Colleen Curran would score her second goal of the evening.  Turning right back around, the Pride would score just two minutes later after a call on Anetta Del Prado resulted in a Penalty kick goal for Regis's Payton Bridge. The Pride goal would go down as the last goal of the game and the AMCATS would spend the next thirty minutes holding off the Regis offense. Clark would manage six more saves for a total of 12 on the night.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• The AMCATS are 0-6 against the Pride in their last six meetings.
• Kortney Clark recorded a career high of 12 saves in the match.
• Amber Girard made her first start of her college career.

The AMCATS will be back in action of Saturday, September 30th where they will host the Albertus Magnus Falcons for Anna Marias 2023 Family and Friends Fall Fest weekend. Opening kickoff is at 2:00pm.
