Bluejays Fly Past Women’s Soccer 5-0

PAXTON, MA — On Wednesday, September 20th the Anna Maria College women's soccer team hosted the University of Saint Joseph (CT) Bluejays for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 5-0.

Scoreless for more than twenty minutes, the Bluejays were the first to strike with a goal from Alana Picard, twenty two minutes into the first half. The AMCATS went back and forth with the Bluejays before they were met by two quick goals from Elizabeth Garlock who brought the Saint Joseph lead over the AMCATS to three going into the second half. 

After a fifteen minute halftime the AMCATS were unable to turn the tide of the game as the Bluejays scored their fourth goal of the night just nine minutes into the half. Nearly twelve minutes later Elizabeth Garlock would score the Bluejays fifth goal of the evening (her third). Unable to get up on the board, the AMCATS ended the game trailing behind the Bluejays 5-0.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE

-The AMCATS are 0-5 against the Bluejays in their last five meetings.

-Madi Mulligan stopped 10 of 15 shots on goal.

UP NEXT

The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, September 23rd where they will head out to Providence, MA to take on the Johnson and Wales University Wildcats. Opening kickoff is at 12:00pm.
