Volleyball beats the Lynx in 3 straight sets to win their match

CAMBRIDGE, MA. – On Tuesday, October 11th the Anna Maria College women's volleyball team traveled to Cambridge, MA for a non-conference match with the Lesley University Lynx. The AMCATS went on to win three straight sets to win the match. 

The AMCATS started their day quickly, jumping on a quick 3-0 run to set the tone for what would become a dominate first set. After a serving error by the Lynx, Sarah Burt would go on a serving run that would push the AMCATS lead to 9-2. A quick point by the Lynx would again be followed by an Anna Maria run, this time conducted by Suzette Scheer. Patty Agbeh would continue to push the AMCATS towards victory with 5 points before Julia Tarantino would finish the job for the AMCATS in set one.  

The second and third set were similar stories for the AMCATS. The second set would finish with an AMCATS win by the score of 25-12. The AMCATS would stay hot and take the third set by a final score of 25-18. Stay tuned as your AMCATS take the court again on Saturday, October 14th as they host a tri-match with Regis College and New England College in Paxton. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Patty Agbeh led the AMCATS with 10 kills on the night. 
  • Jana Hunt led the AMCATS with a total of 12 digs.

WHAT'S NEXT

Volleyball will be back in action on Saturday, October 14th where they will host the Regis College Pride and the Prilgrims of New England College for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tri-Match. the AMCATS will be celebrating their senior day against the Pigrims. First match starts at 11:00am.
